Inspiration Monday

June is here! Today's inspiration comes from this article in the Wall Street Journal featuring Maria Cornejo and her husband, artist Mark Borthwick, in their kitchen of their Brooklyn home. Eschewing cookbooks and restaurants, Mark and Maria prefer to cook at home in an organic and experimental way with their family and lots of guests.

"Our kitchen is the most used room in the house. Everyone ends up congregating here or in the garden, and Mark usually cooks some fantastic thing and then I clean up. Over the summer we had a dinner with 50 people out in the garden and it was just crazy—candles, lots of lovely food and a lot of mess."

Inspiration Monday!

We're all back to work after a warm weekend in the sun! Radical ladies seem to be on our minds this week, from the avant-garde designs of Prada & Schiaparelli, to Madonna & the Guerrilla Girls. And there's a little Basquiat in there just for kicks. Don't miss Judith Thurman's fantastic article in the New Yorker on the upcoming Prada/Schiaparelli show at the Met. I think we need to take a Metier field trip to New York just to see this show! Images via The NY Times / Jezebel / iwarra / The Coveteur / Miltanthope / Magical Realisms
