Sheri: "Watching them turn into amazing people."

Trina: "We're a little tribe of love, snacks, adventures, crafts, and cuddles. I've waited my whole life for this."

Metier in this month's San Francisco Magazine!

We're excited to share that Metier is featured in the March 2012 issue of San Francisco Magazine! The article highlights local boutiques that use lookbooks and blogs to create dynamic images for their audiences. The Isabel Marant Spring 2012 ad campaign features model Arizona Muse lounging in a sunny convertible with an adorable cropped haircut and gorgeous smile! She's rocking some of our favorite pieces of the collection- the Idini tie-dyed jacket and the Reo printed jeans. The past few campaigns, including this one, have been shot by the talented photographer duo, Inez & Vinoodh, with creative direction by Atelier Franck Durand. Christina from one of our favorite fashion blogs, Stylebite, recently interviewed Sheri about 20 years of Metier, her own personal style, and what trends she's excited about for Spring 2012.

Stylebite: Your designer roster is always great. Do you have any favorites? Which designers are in most frequent rotation in your closet?

Sheri: I’m totally an Isabel Marant or a Zero+Maria Cornejo girl almost every day with a big dose of Current/Elliott or Mih jeans.  I live in my Rag & Bone blazers and wear Golden Goose or Martha Davis boots all year long.  I adore jewelry and wear an armful of bracelets and my Antique and Cathy Waterman charm necklace every day.  I like an interesting sheath or a tuxedo blazer for dressing up with a big Lizzie Fortunato necklace and red Isabel Marant pumps that I seem to wear with everything. A big Jerome Dreyfuss is my bag of choice.

Isabel Marant & Jerome Dreyfuss' weekend home in NYTimes Magazine

A recent article in the New York Times T Magazine had us all swooning over Isabel Marant's simple, rustic cottage in the French countryside! Escaping the stress of the week in the fashion world, she and her husband/handbag designer, Jerome Dreyfuss and their son Tal head for their cabin every weekend. Without water and electricity, the family spends their days playing in the river, the treehouse, entertaining friends and their kids, and generally resetting for Monday back in Paris.

"Lunches are always long, laid-back affairs that melt into convivial evenings lit by candles and kerosene lanterns and fueled by lots of good French wine. After the kids retire to their tents, the adults take out the tarot cards and sip brandy."

If that doesn't sound like an enviable weekly getaway, we don't know what is! Check out the rest of the article & photos here.

Our blogmaster, Rebecca, was featured on Refinery29 this week wearing some of our favorite pieces from the Rag & Bone Spring 2011 collection, the 88 shirt and Addington wedges, mixed with her colorful, eclectic wardrobe! We are so excited to see her awesome Oakland apartment and her blog, BIG THINGS, getting some love, along with a shout-out to the Metier family. Hooray!

We were thrilled to see Martha Davis' studio featured on Refinery29 this morning. Check out the interview with our favorite local designer and the tour of her rustic, light-filled space just down the street in Hayes Valley. Now we're even more anxious to receive our fall shipment!

Don't fear the leopard!

Feeling a little timid when it comes to wearing leopard print? Maybe the LA Times' All the Rage blog post featuring the Current/Elliott Stiletto will change your mind! Calling the jeans "reminiscent of an early-60s Edie Sedgwick" is much more attractive than the 80s metal band and Kardashian references that give our spotted friends a bad name.

The Huffington Post interviewed Maria Cornejo in April about juggling her business, life in the fashion world, and being a mom. The article explains exactly why she is one of our favorite designers: she's such a strong, independent, no-nonsense force in fashion with a solid sense of style, yet she's so humble.
