Sommer on 7x7's Street Style!

Our very own Sommer Naffz was recently snapped by 7x7's Street Style blog! We love her blue-on-blue outfit: an Equipment top, vintage 3.1 Phillip Lim cardigan, and Current/Elliott Stiletto jeans mixed with H&M leopard wedges and vintage jewelry from her grandmother. Read the interview here, which includes Som's top 5 SF spots and what she's most excited to wear this summer.

Many of you will recognize Sommer from past years at Metier. We're excited to have our fun friend back on the team after a few year hiatus! Welcome back, Som- you're turning heads already!

Metier x SF Design Week!

We're excited to support this year's San Francisco Design Week by participating in Look About, a week-long project bringing the work of up-and coming Bay Area designers into local design-conscious retailers. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and Retail Design Institute (RDI) chose several stores around the city to showcase the designers' work, including us and our friends at Gimme Shoes, MAC, etc.

Through June 16th, prints by Becky Hui Chan and Rinee Shah, as well as custom bicycles designed by Ube Urban will be on display at Metier. Stop by to check them out or visit the SF Design Week website for more information on other participating stores and events around the city.

Inspiration Monday

June is here! Today's inspiration comes from this article in the Wall Street Journal featuring Maria Cornejo and her husband, artist Mark Borthwick, in their kitchen of their Brooklyn home. Eschewing cookbooks and restaurants, Mark and Maria prefer to cook at home in an organic and experimental way with their family and lots of guests.

"Our kitchen is the most used room in the house. Everyone ends up congregating here or in the garden, and Mark usually cooks some fantastic thing and then I clean up. Over the summer we had a dinner with 50 people out in the garden and it was just crazy—candles, lots of lovely food and a lot of mess."

We love her fresh and minimal style with lots of loose cotton dresses, stripes, and pops of bright color from the likes of Rachel Comey, Isabel Marant and APC. And of course, no closet is complete without pretty socks! Hansel From Basel socks are now available in our online shop!

Philip Crangi on The Coveteur

We were excited to see one of our friends and favorite jewelers, Philip Crangi, on The Coveteur this morning. A true artist and visionary, take a peek inside his Manhattan home that he shares with partner, Darren, who designs accessories for Proenza Schouler. What a creative and inspiring couple! We love the flea market finds and the signature Crangi steel twist rings on the radio dials.

Spring Sightings

We love to see celebs and models wearing current Metier finds! This shot of Magdalena Frackowiak in Isabel Marant's Astia Sweatshirt for Vogue Spain is absolutely stunning.

Victoria Justice paired Rag & Bone's Surf Legging Jeans with simple black pieces.

Hello Elle! Nice to know you are equally obsessed with Isabel Marant's Tie-Dye Skinny Jeans as we are!
Current Elliott's High-Waisted Skinny Jeans are a fitting pair for Emma Roberts and her low-keyed style.

Gwyneth Paltrow loves her R13 Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans and who could blame her?

Cindy Crawford looks classic in Rag & Bone's Hart Biker Jacket.

Cole at the White House & Sasha on Refinery29!

This has been a big week for Sheri's kids, Cole and Sasha Berliner, who have been making waves with their creative talent and causing the whole crew of Metier aunties to squeal with pride. On Easter, Cole performed with Oakland's PopLyfe and Disney star, Zendaya at The White House! And this morning we all crowded around the computer to see Refinery29's feature on Sasha, our favorite teen fashion blogger. It's such a delight to see these guys grow up and pursue their love of music and fashion!

Don't forget to check out Sasha's blog, Smile or Die (Isabel Marant reference!) for her coverage of her trip to NYFW and notes on style.
